Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) Task Force Criteria (2010 Revised): Explanation and Clinical Context The ARVC Task Force Criteria (2010 revised) is a structured diagnostic tool used to improve diagnostic accuracy for ARVC, a genetic cardiomyopathy characterized by fibro-fatty replacement of the right ventricular myocardium, leading to arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. The criteria are divided into six categories: global or regional dysfunction and structural alterations (assessed by imaging), repolarization abnormalities, depolarization/conduction abnormalities (ECG), arrhythmias, histopathology (if available), and family history/genetics. Each category is scored as major or minor based on specific quantitative and qualitative thresholds.

Diagnosis is determined by combining major and minor criteria: Definite ARVC (2 major, or 1 major + 2 minor, or 4 minor), Borderline ARVC (1 major + 1 minor), Possible ARVC (2 minor). These criteria are widely used in clinical practice for risk stratification, early diagnosis, and guiding family screening and management.
