Cardiotoxicity Risk by Troponin: Explanation and Clinical Context The Cardiotoxicity Risk Calculator estimates the likelihood of developing chemotherapy-induced cardiac dysfunction based on Troponin I (TnI) and Troponin T (TnT) levels. Elevated troponin levels during or shortly after chemotherapy are predictive of subsequent left ventricular dysfunction and heart failure. Troponin I <0.04 ng/mL is generally associated with low risk (<5%) of cardiotoxicity, levels between 0.04–0.1 ng/mL indicate intermediate risk (5–20%), and levels >0.1 ng/mL suggest high risk (>20%).

This tool can help clinicians identify patients who may benefit from early cardioprotective interventions, closer cardiac monitoring, and individualized chemotherapy planning.
