Cost-Effectiveness of Statin Therapy by Age/Risk Model: Explanation and Clinical Context This calculator implements a transparent, adjustable cost-effectiveness framework for primary-prevention statin therapy anchored to a patient’s 10-year ASCVD risk and therapy intensity. It estimates absolute risk reduction as baseline risk × RRR and converts events prevented into QALYs. Treatment disutility and excess diabetes risk reduce net QALYs.
Costs include drug, monitoring, and offset by events avoided. Outputs: net QALYs, net costs, ICER, NMB, and decision vs WTP threshold.
