It considers the presence of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), renal impairment (eGFR <60 mL/min/1.73m² or albuminuria), arterial stiffness (e.g., carotid intima-media thickness >0.9mm), and hypertensive retinopathy (grade >1). The total score ranges from 0 to 4, with higher scores indicating greater organ damage and elevated risk for cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease.
