JTc Interval: Explanation and Clinical Context The JTc interval represents the corrected JT interval, calculated as the QT interval minus QRS duration, adjusted for heart rate. It isolates ventricular repolarization from depolarization, offering a more precise assessment than QTc in patients with wide QRS complexes. Normal values are generally <330 ms for men and <340 ms for women.

Prolonged JTc is associated with an increased risk of ventricular arrhythmias, particularly Torsades de Pointes. JTc is particularly useful in conditions like bundle branch block or ventricular pacing where QRS duration prolongs QT interval and may overestimate repolarization delay. Accurate JTc calculation improves risk stratification for sudden cardiac death and guides clinical decision-making regarding antiarrhythmic therapy.
