It integrates echocardiographic parameters including vena contracta width, effective regurgitant orifice area (EROA), regurgitant volume, left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and clinical parameters such as NYHA functional class. Each parameter is assigned points based on clinically validated thresholds, and the total score stratifies MR into mild, moderate, severe, or very severe categories.
