Outpatient Bleeding Risk Index (OBRI): Explanation and Clinical Context OBRI is a validated scoring system developed to predict the risk of major bleeding in outpatients receiving oral anticoagulant therapy, particularly warfarin. It assigns 1 point each for four clinical risk factors: age >65 years, history of stroke, history of gastrointestinal bleeding, and comorbid conditions including diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, or renal disease. The total score ranges from 0 to 4, stratifying patients into low, moderate, high, or very high risk for major bleeding.
