SAFE-TAVR Score: Explanation and Clinical Context The SAFE-TAVR Score is a clinical tool designed to assess the risk of pericardial effusion or cardiac tamponade following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). It incorporates patient-specific factors such as age, sex, presence of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, ventricular function, and access site to stratify risk. This score aids clinicians in identifying high-risk patients who may benefit from additional monitoring or preventive measures during and after TAVR procedures.
