APGAR Score Explanation and Clinical Context APGAR Score is a standardized clinical tool to rapidly assess the status of a newborn during the first moments of life. It evaluates Appearance Pulse Grimace Activity and Respiration each scored from zero to two resulting in a total score between zero and ten. Scores of seven to ten generally indicate good condition while four to six suggests moderate depression and may re
