DEPOSIT Score: Explanation and Clinical Context The DEPOSIT (Device-related Endocarditis Prediction) Score is a validated tool to estimate the risk of infective endocarditis in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). It incorporates patient age, device type (pacemaker, ICD, CRT), prior device-related infections, comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus, and renal failure. Higher scores indicate increased risk for device-related infective endocarditis, guiding clinicians in early diagnosis, monitoring, and management.
