M-Boston Score (Mitral Arcade Surgical Outcome): Explanation and Clinical Context This scoring model is designed to predict surgical outcomes in patients with mitral arcade anomaly undergoing mitral valve surgery. It incorporates preoperative and intraoperative variables such as leaflet involvement, annular dimension, chordal extension, and ventricular function. A higher score indicates a (worse/better) surgical outcome, depending on how it is defined in the original study.
This tool should be used as a supplement to comprehensive clinical judgment, including patient comorbidities, operative risk scores (STS/EuroSCORE), and intraoperative findings.
