Early menopause (before 55 years) is independently associated with increased ASCVD risk due to prolonged estrogen deficiency. The algorithm applies a risk adjustment factor of 2% per year of menopause before age 55, added to a baseline Framingham-like risk model.

This tool is intended to provide clinicians with a more individualized ASCVD risk estimate for postmenopausal women, aiding in preventive counseling and therapeutic decision-making.
