Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation (SCORE) is a tool designed to estimate the 10-year risk of fatal cardiovascular disease in individuals without prior cardiovascular events. It uses age, sex, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, and smoking status as inputs. SCORE helps clinicians in primary prevention to determine the need for lifestyle modifications or pharmacological interventions.
Risk categories are classified as low, moderate, high, and very high, guiding clinical decision-making and patient counseling.
