Duke Activity Status Index (DASI): Explanation and Clinical Context The Duke Activity Status Index (DASI) is a self-administered questionnaire designed to estimate a patient's functional capacity in metabolic equivalents (METs) based on their ability to perform common daily activities. The total score ranges from 0 to 58.2 points, with higher scores indicating better functional capacity and lower cardiovascular risk. DASI has been validated against measured peak oxygen uptake (VO2 max) and can be used to estimate exercise capacity non-invasively.

It is widely used in cardiovascular disease assessment, preoperative evaluation, and risk stratification for patients with heart failure and coronary artery disease.
