InterTAK Diagnostic Score: Explanation and Clinical Context The InterTAK Diagnostic Score is a validated clinical tool designed to estimate the likelihood of Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) in patients presenting with acute chest pain and suspected acute coronary syndrome. The score incorporates clinical variables readily available at presentation, including female sex, emotional or physical triggers, ST-segment depression on ECG, presence of psychiatric or neurologic disorders, and QTc prolongation. Scores are summed to produce a total InterTAK score, which stratifies patients into low, intermediate, or high probability for TTS.

Higher scores indicate a greater likelihood of Takotsubo syndrome. This tool assists clinicians in differentiating TTS from acute coronary syndromes, guiding diagnostic testing, patient monitoring, and management decisions.
